# kindgi mcp-launch

> Spawn an MCP server subprocess with secrets injected from Kindgi

## `kindgi mcp-launch`

**Synopsis**

```sh signature
kindgi mcp-launch -- --runtime=<npx|docker> --package=<name> --env-map=VAR=secret:NAME@env:scope [...] [-- <passthrough>]
```

Spawn an MCP server subprocess with secrets injected from Kindgi. Invoked by MCP clients via .mcp.json — not for direct use.

**Options**

Every command also takes the [global flags](https://docs.kindgi.com/v0.1.10/reference/cli.md#global-flags).

**Examples**

The command an MCP client runs from .mcp.json: start the Postgres server with its connection string read from a secret (written by `kindgi mcp add`, not typed by hand).

```sh
kindgi mcp-launch -- --runtime=npx --package=@modelcontextprotocol/server-postgres --env-map=DATABASE_URL=secret:MY_DB_URL@local:tenant
```
